Revitalize Dunkirk Inc.’s February meeting will feature guest speaker Matthew Bourke, community development planner for the city of Dunkirk. The meeting is scheduled for today at 6:30 p.m. in the large conference room at the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk.
Area residents are welcomed to attend Bourke’s presentation regarding the progress being made by the Vacant Property Task Force. In conjunction with czbLLC, a volunteer task force consisting of some 12 Dunkirk citizens collected data on more than 4,400 residential properties in the city. Two-person teams gave each parcel a “1st impression” physical condition score. Properties were listed as healthy, stable, at-risk, weak or distressed by the citizen volunteers.
Much of the accumulated data has been analyzed and a final report is pending. At this meeting, Bourke will share an update on the ongoing efforts of the task force that is working to address the city’s housing challenges. This will include summaries of the work done to date and of the report that the task force helped put together, as well as ideas for important next steps.
During the business portion of the meeting to follow, Revitalize Dunkirk Board and Committee members will report on various ongoing projects and upcoming events.
